Frisco is New Home to the Dallas Cowboys Facility

According to the local Frisco News the Dallas Cowboys corporate headquarters and indoor Stadium is moving to Frisco Texas after an approved $115 million plan. The indoor football stadium will be shared by the team and the Frisco school district and will cover 25 acres on the northwest corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Warren Parkway. The facility will include a multipurpose Stadium, 12,000 seats, to indoor fields, and be used for the Dallas Cowboys and the Frisco high school for sports and other events. A combination of $30 million from the Frisco ISD, $25 million from the Frisco community development Corporation and $25 million from the Cowboys corporate headquarters will all be used to pay for the stadium and parking.Frisco is the new facility for dallas Cowboys

This is a great move for the Frisco area which has alway prided itself on public/private partnerships. In doing deals like this for decades, Frisco has offered residents great amenities and recreational facilities throughout the city. The school district will pay for an event day expenses for high school games and the Cowboys will be responsible for the stadiums maintenance and operation costs. The team will also pay the city of Frisco $100,000 per year as a rental payment and share revenue from any sponsorship and naming rights.

The stadium is set to be completed by the 2016 football season and includes a 25 year agreement to hold training camp at the Frisco facility at least one week each year. Currently, the team trains in Oxnard California and has practiced in the Valley Ranch section of Irving since 1985. According to city councilmember Scott Johnson, “At the end of the day, the Dallas Cowboys are the biggest franchise in the world… I’m proud to bring Americans team here”

According to the Frisco ISD superintendent to Jeremy Lyon, “this is a very, very unusual and unique opportunities that we have; I daresay there is not another like it in the state of Texas. I’m very excited and very eager to get this thing started.”
